Style hacks for your next festival

23rd July 2018

We love festival season at Superdry – that’s why we created a massive round up of the hottest music events taking place around the world, in 2018.

But the biggest dilemma – after you’ve worked out how to get there and what to pack – is probably how you’re going to pull together your look every day. We’ve got you covered with these essential style hacks.

Women – What to wear to a festival

Keep these style hacks in mind when you’re planning those outfits.

Slip dress for the win

A summer slip dress is the perfect festival look. Wear over a band t-shirt and pair with hi-tops for casual sunny day style or pair with a fringe jacket and wellies if things get a little wet.

Braids are your saviour

Book in with your hairdresser and have your hair braided professionally. They’ll last longer and look incredible. Rock a braided ponytail – great for swinging round when the beat drops. Dress them up with glitter, fake flowers and colour spray. Let them loose for perfect, tousled waves on the last day.

Knee-high socks are essential

If you’re pairing wellies with bare legs you need a pair of knee-highs. These stop any rubbing or redness on your calves and look good too.

All the glitter

We like to think of glitter as a base layer for festivals. A strong highlighter + shimmer eyeshadow + glitter roots and gems is a winning combo. Even if you’re covered in mud, add glitter and all is saved.

Pack your swimwear

Change into your swimming costume if you fancy taking part in the festival mud slide. Expect to get through a lot of baby wipes later cleaning up.

Knot your maxi dress

Maxis look incredible in those professional style shots for the gram but once you hit the main dancing area they can get in the way. Just grab one side, pull up to a length you like then knot in place.

Opt for the all-in-one

It might make using those grim toilets a bit unnerving – but a jumpsuit makes getting ready easy. A playsuit style is great for summer festivals – pair with a lightweight jacket once evening rolls around.

A hat is an essential

Baseball cap, trucker hat or fedora – whatever your style, a hat is a must. It’s great whatever the weather – shielding you from sun and rain.

Cargo shorts are a winner

Ditch the chinos or the denim shorts for the day event – this year, make cargo shorts your go-to when it comes to your festival style. They usually come with a load of pockets – meaning you can leave the bag behind and still take everything you need but hands free.

Plaid shirts are the ideal layer up

Don’t fancy packing a waterproof? A plaid shirt is ideal for if the clouds go in. Tie around your waist with a vest top and you’re good for anything.

Skip the wellies – go for leather

Don’t fancy trekking through the crowds in bulky wellies? Leather work boots are your best call. They look great with everything and are still waterproof.

Embrace the BB cream

This stuff is a miracle. It moisturises your skin and acts like SPF – plus it balances out your complexion, so no one will know if you’re feeling it from the night before.
