Winter wardrobe inspiration
28th November 2016
As Ned Stark would say ‘Winter is coming’… but for many it has already arrived. Which is why you need to take a good look at your wardrobe and perhaps give it an overhaul for the winter months. If you’re looking for inspiration, you’re in the right place…
Your jacket is your true statement piece for the winter months, but it’s a good idea to have a couple to chop and change between as the unpredictable weather could bring blue skies and warmer days or bitterly cold mornings and plenty of frost. It’s good to start off with a good transitional jacket – like our stylish men’s leather jackets. They’re available all year round and look good with everything. They’re warm enough to wear while bar hopping in the evening without the bulk and are great for those odd warm days. Alternatively, parkas are big news again this season, with fur lined hoods and khaki shades dominating the rails. Our signature shapes and attention to detail will help you stand out from the crowd.
Knitted accessories are very much necessities this time of year. Scarves are a popular choice for those looking to make a statement as they not only keep you snug but they look great draped over one shoulder with the remaining material left hanging. Beanies are also great to variety to your looks (and the added warmth doesn’t hurt).
Great for all types of weather, the ankle boot is perfect for winter and comes in such a range of styles and shapes you could gather a collection for every occasion. Opt for leather look boots when the weather is wet with plenty of grip. Leather Brogues are great for making more of a fashion statement while Chelsea Boots are great for everyday use.
Jumpers and cardigans are the perfect throw on pieces with jeans for casual winter style. Cable knit has been around for a long time but is a particularly popular style for 2016 and looking toward 2017, a classic cream or light grey shade works with most outfits but a bold red or navy is a great look for festive occasions. Heavy knits should be opted for over thin knitwear. Turtle necks are still around and great for wearing with a smart blazer jacket for the office during the winter months.
Ditch the ripped jeans for now (it’s too cold anyway!). This winter it’s all about heavy washed and vintage style jeans for that well worn look. Thank goodness for comfort, loose fit and slim fits are currently proving popular.
Take away some of this inspiration and top up that wardrobe with some new winter staples!
