How did you get into your Sport? Talk us through your journey At the age of 12 my Nan took me to my first cross country race. It was a sport she was good at when she was younger and also thought that I could be good at too. I ran really well and from there I joined my local athletics club. At the age of 19 I went to a university in Twickenham that specialised in sports, to enable me to train whilst also study for my sports science degree. It was at university that I met my coach Matthew Yates. He told me to start taking the sport seriously because he believed I have what it takes to success and be a great athlete. Since then my athletic career really started to take off and in the past three years of my athletic career I have been national champion for both the 800m and 1500m and have been ranked top ten in the U.K.
What has been your proudest moment in your career? My proudest moment in my career so far was coming 4th at the 2016 Olympic trials. Based on personal bests I was ranked to come second last going into the final, and ended up coming 4th which was a massive surprise and confidence boost. It was this moment that I really started to believe in myself and recognise my own talent.
What do you look for in active wear? Comfort, fit, style and practicality are four of the main things I look for in active wear.
What motivational track do you work out too? When I’m training I will always listen to happy upbeat music with a good pace. When it comes to competing I normally listen to slower paced music that calms me down and keeps me relaxed. One song i Love listening to whilst working out is ‘I can-Nas’.
What is your favourite piece from the Superdry Sport range and why? The black marl active seamless leggings and crop top is my favourite set from the Superdry Sport range. Black is my go to colour for sportswear and I love the pop of pink. The set is so comfortable and fits perfectly!
What would be your 5 step workout routine for a newbie? Identify your individual strengths and weaknesses – Design a program – Keep it structured but also varied – Set yourself long and short terms goals – Start slowly and build up gradually.
