5 Festivals Not To Miss This Year
15th May 2016
The temperatures are still on the chilly side and we still want to be inside wrapped up in our cosiest hoodie, but we won’t let that stop us dreaming of summer 2016, which will be our best ever!
The sun, the alfresco dining, the clothes, but best of all, the music festivals! We’re so excited.
Here are our top 5 festivals which you should not miss this year!
Live at Leeds // Leeds // 30th April
This festival is the perfect start to the summer. With an incredible line up and held in venues across the city, the Live at Leeds festival is one not to miss. Headliners include Jess Glynne, Circa Waves, Corinne Bailey Rae, as well as other awesome acts like Mystery Jets, We are Scientists, Shura and Ghostpoet. Also, a bonus is that if the British summer weather is not playing ball, all the venues are inside so you won’t get drenched.
The Great Escape // Brighton // 19th – 21st May
The Great Escape in Brighton has something for everyone. Featuring the awesome Stormzy, WSTRN and Craig David for grime and garage lovers, there’s also a band for every genre and acts from all over the world. Mystery Jets, Tangerines and Astroid Boys also appear on the epic extensive line-up dedicated to showcasing new music talent. Again, this festival is held across over 30 venues in Brighton, so wherever you go you’re sure to find some awesome new music.
Love Saves the Day // Bristol // 28th – 29th May
By this time of the year we should be getting some warmer weather (fingers crossed!) and the perfect time to get your favourite festival outfit on will be at Love Saves the Day held in Bristol. The main stage headliners across the two days are Hot Chip, Dizzee Rascal, Stormzy and Everything Everything. The great thing about this weekend event is that it has that proper ‘festival out in the fields’ feel, but in reality you’re only a 30 minute walk or five minute car ride away from the city centre. Perfect if you’re craving some fast food or shopping!
Common People // Oxford & Southampton // 28th – 29th May
Common People is held across two locations, Oxford and Southampton; the headliners swap over each day so you won’t miss out whichever location you decide to go to. Some of the awesome headliners are Craig David’s TS5, Primal Scream, Public Enemy, Duran Duran, Katy B, Jamie Lawson and the biggest of all… Mr Motivator! 😉
Along with all of the awesome acts, there are lots of amazing pop up venues, bars and street food stalls, so there’s no chance you will get bored, or hungry!
Liverpool International Music Festival // Liverpool // 21st – 24th July
The Liverpool music festival has some amazing acts in its line-up. Sigma, Lianne La Havas and The Wombats make up the major headliners and the festival takes place over four days. There are five events across the first three days which celebrate the musical past and present of the city and it culminates with a big free Summer Jam across the weekend held in Sefton Park. One not to miss!
