Five Day to Night Party Looks
25th August 2018
Sometimes, we just know those days out with friends can turn into long nights and getting home in the early hours of the morning. These are the nights where anything could happen, when memories are made and you talk about in years to come. But what do you wear?
You need an outfit that doesn’t make you look overdressed during the day but that you won’t feel underdressed in during the night. Striking the right balance and finding a day party outfit that works once the sun sets can feel tricky which is why we’ve come up with five looks to help you nail it every time.
Look 1: Leisurely lunch to last one at the bar
You’ve organised to meet a group of friends for a pub lunch but you know you won’t be heading home when you’ve finished your pie and chips. The soft drinks will definitely turn into something a little stronger and you’ll no doubt still be there when they are calling last orders.
Jeans and a nice top are a go to outfit – perfect as you move from lunch to drinks. Swap trainers for boots for a smarter vibe but choose an off the shoulder top perfect for dancing around the tables.
A smart and stylish combo that will look perfect during lunch and take you effortlessly into the evening. Low trainers and a little ankle keep things things casual while a pair of rolled up chinos errs on the smarter side. The perfect balance for when you’ve forgotten whose round it is later so you move onto shots.
Look 2: Boozy brunch followed by cocktails until closing
The bubbles that accompanied your brunch have got you in the mood for a few more…
This dress is super cute for brunch with the girls but add the leather jacket and a red lip and you have a striking look ready for the cocktail bar. Boots let you brave any weather – great for if it starts sunny and turns wet in the evening. Keep accessories minimal and let your jacket do all the talking.
This outfit will keep you looking good and feeling warm as you head from your brunch spot to the bar. A long sleeved polo is ideal for that in between weather – when you don’t want to carry around a jacket but also don’t want to freeze as the night gets on and you’re waving down a cab.
Look 3: Day of sightseeing into a night of dancing
You’re heading to a new city with a group of friends, ready for a day of discovering everything it has to offer – including the nightlife.
A loose fitting dress and your coat will be comfy as you wander around exploring, during the day. But then simply hand your jacket into the club’s cloakroom and you’re ready for the evening. Forget the heels, you’re going to be on your feet for a long time.
Shirt open during the day and buttoned up at night will instantly take you from day to night. Boots keep things comfy while stomping around the tourist attractions but let you get past the bouncers when you want to access all areas at the clubs.
Look 4: From the classroom to the club
You have a fun night out planned with your friends – you just have a few lectures to get through first. There’s no time to go home, so you’re heading straight out for drinks as soon as you’ve closed your books for the day.
A cute outfit for school that will look great on the dance floor too. Embroidered details keep things cute for the day but fancy for the evening. Heeled boots are a great alternative to your usual stilettos – ideal for the classroom and the dancefloor.
Smart enough for college and the bouncer won’t be turning you away for inappropriate footwear. A denim shirt keeps things casual at your desk but the collar and tailored fit makes a great impression when you want to get someone’s number later.
Look 5: Start in the coffee shop and end at a house party
You’re meeting your friend for a catch up over a cappuccino before picking up the cider and heading to a house party.
Wear the jumper to the coffee shop and then remove it on the way to the party to reveal your dressy top underneath. Strappy sandals are the perfect mix of dressed up but low key footwear to wear – and a cropped jean shows these off even better.
A cool but comfortable outfit that will take you from shots of espresso to shots of tequila. Pair with your comfiest blue jeans for smashing the beer pong table at that house party. Trainers work at any point in the day.
Next time you get invited out for the day, that you’re sure will continue into the night, you’ll know exactly what to wear. Try out some of these looks and blend night and day in your look.
