This month, our Superdry Getaway Guide explores the delights of Paris. Like London or New York, Paris is a city of contrasts. From the high romance of dining and culture, through to the bohemian sections of the city, it has its own je ne sais quoi. It’s not really a question of why visit Paris, rather… why would you not?
You will eat and drink like royalty
Croissants, crêpes, wine, baguettes, cheese… your mouth watering much? The French markets, street stalls, and cafés offer some of the best food in Europe. If you fancy something a bit more upmarket, there are many amazing eateries that offer gastronomic treats from classics such as croque-monsieurs, French onion soup, and niçoise salad. Top it off with a fabulous éclair au chocolat or mille-feuille and your golden! Fancy bringing some wine home? Our Block Out Whopper Shopper Bag is perfect for carrying your goodies.
You will see the finest art man can produce
There are many reasons to visit Paris, but one of them has to be art. Thanks to its conscientious Kings and Presidents of old, Paris boasts a very impressive display of art, classical and modern. For some, the Musée du Louvre warrants the title of the greatest museum in the world – it doesn’t get much more momentous than that. The dress code – you don’t really want to be walking around some of the most famous museums in the world wearing your slacks. Fellas, our International Chino Pants will keep you cool while looking sophisticated. While ladies, our Panel Lace Skater Dress is the perfect look for the modern art connoisseur!
No trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower.
One of the most iconic constructions in the World, the Tower was built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel. Nicknamed “The Iron Lady”, the Tour Eiffel is also known as the Monster of the World Exhibition, chiefly because until 1930 it was the tallest structure in the world. Every hour from sunset until 1am the Eiffel Tower shimmers and sparkles. If you fancy climbing it, prepare yourself for a lot of steps! For the ladies, our classic flip flops will keep your feet comfortable. And lads, a pair of our Trophy Series High Top Trainers will do the trick.
The Moulin Rouge; it’s a bucket-list experience!
The Moulin Rouge is the most famous cabaret in the world. Best known as the spiritual birthplace of the can-can dance, the famous red windmill can still be found in the trendy Pigalle neighbourhood. Enjoy dinner and a show while the orchestra gets the crowd into a dancing mood – helped along by some sparkling acts. Ladies, fancy a new outfit? Our High Neck Scuba Dress paired with some costume jewellery is perfect, while lads can look super suave in our London Button Down Shirt.
It’s a magical place!
Ok, ok, it’s not your average Paris city activity but why not have a break from all the culture, food, and architecture and check out the action-packed rides at Euro Disney? Located in the new town of Marne-la-Vallée about 20 miles from Paris, Disneyland Paris has gained the reputation for being the most visited attraction in France, if not Europe. The dress code is up to you! However, don’t forget your Orange Label Zip Hoodie for the evening. You don’t want to get cold watching the fireworks!
