London 2012 has been a huge global event and we’ve made sure that we’re right in the centre of all the action! Our Superdry Stratford City store sits in the heart of Westfield Shopping Centre – the gateway to the London 2012 Olympic Village, so we’ve been attracting our fair share of fans, officials and athletes who have been itching to get their hands on their favourite items!

Some of our famous fans include Team GB’s medal winners, Daniel Purvis and Kristian Thomas, Superdry-sponsored Justin Reid-Ross and the South African mens hockey team. Also making an appearance was Austrian Canoe slalom athlete Corinna Kuhnle, and Charlotte Bonnet and Camille Muffat from the French swimming team, to name but a few.

The athletes picked up some of their favourite Superdry pieces from the store, including windcheater jackets and our AW12 denim that is making its way to store now. You can view our album of Olympic visitors on our Facebook page.

Last Saturday we announced our arrival in Bristol’s Cabot Circus with an unforgettable in-store launch event with our friends from Ministry of Sound. We sent our PR Intern Kathleen down to get involved and see what was going on!

“After a 6am alarm call we hit the road, reaching Bristol at around 8am. It was all hands on deck as we unloaded the iconic photo wall and posed for a few cheesy team photos with the store staff – just to make sure all the equipment was working properly, honest!

Coffee flowing, moral boosted and spirits high, Superdry Cabot Circus was ready and waiting to welcome the queue of fans that had already started forming outside. These we’re the eager fans who wanted to be the first to get their hands on a tee-in-a-tin in our exclusive giveaway. Customers also had the chance to win one of our famous leather jackets in an exclusive launch competition, too!

Ministry of Sound’s DJ R3WIRE manned the decks throughout the day, playing his trademark mix of bass and beats to entice passers-by and raise the roof in true Superdry style. They even had copies of their hottest mixes to give away to customers as a souvenir of the event!

The photo wall went down a storm, drawing in Superdry fans posing with their purchases – our hoods and sweats seemed to prove very popular. Check out our Superdry Facebook page to see all the snaps from the day by our very own in-store photographer; if you spot yourself, tag yourself! If you couldn’t make it though, follow our ‘Superdry HQ’ Instagram feed to see the best bits captured throughout the day.

Or go one better; see the new striking store for yourself and give Superdry Cabot Circus a visit!”

Nice one Kathleen – we’ll be sending you out for the next one, too!

Superdry-sponsored James Lowsley Williams has had a busy few months recently. Multiple races and training to better himself as well as working with the Team UK Youth have meant we have had lots to catch up about!

Travelling across the globe has ensured James is at the top of his game when it comes to his cycling. It’s safe to say he is competing at a very high level. In James’ own words; “I love racing at this level. Firstly it pushes me physically, to reach for more and better levels of performance. Day on day of training and race after race, I feel myself getting stronger and more experienced” His ability to push himself and team mates to victory has been proven on many occasions; something to be extremely proud of for an Olympic 2016 hopeful!

James’ race schedule includes the Dengie Marshes – the equivalent to the premier league in football, where he came in 15th out of 150 of the best riders in the UK. You may have even seen James and Team UK Youth on ITV4 in the Halfords tour, where they placed 3rd overall!

He tells us how he comes away from these races in better fitness and with more confidence that comes from succeeding at something new. This is exactly why we teamed up with this budding Olympiad.

“Like you all, I am cheering on Team GB at the upcoming Olympics and when I’ve not been training in the pouring rain on my bike or riding for the team, I have been watching the Tour De France and cheering on Wiggins.”

We are wishing James and Team UK Youth all the best of luck in their upcoming competitions and hope our Superdry fans will be flying the red white and blue flags, too!

The Superdry team in Denmark have been busy on a photoshoot with two of the most popular up-and-coming models in the country.

Sam Afolabi and Jasmin Franko along with their stylist Kenneth Adelhardt were going for the heavily layered look and found Superdry to be the perfect brand for the job.

We think the vintage/washed look that we’re famous for works brilliantly with the urban location.

What do you think? Let the Denmark team know on their Facebook page.
