This month we’re introducing you to new talent that we’ve been watching, and this has been the toughest playlist to pick out just six tracks to give you more detail on, but here we go.

Heading up our emerging talent playlist is the beautifully floaty track, ‘Motherless Child’ from Romare’s heavily anticipated debut album, Projections (released on Ninja Tune Records). Taking African-American musical elements and fusing them with modern beats, it’s a sound we’re not all familiar with but can’t help but finding it somewhat infectious. An artist doing his own thing, in his own way – we highly respect that.

Down the line we’ve re-featured Sylvan Esso’s track ‘Coffee’ in case you missed it first time round. Since the release of their self-titled debut album last year, the two piece hailing from North Carolina have been busy touring, making a lasting impression along the way. Booked into gigs and festivals all across the summer there are plenty of chances to catch them live.

Next up is from New York based two piece, Lion Babe – ‘Treat Me Like Fire’. We know little about Lion Babe, but thanks to a strong backing from Gilles Peterson on his Worldwide Radio show we have their beautifully soulful track on our system. Currently with one UK gig on their roster, head to Bristol on 19th May to catch them live.

FKJ aka French Kiwi Juice has had nothing but praise across 2014 and in to 2015 with his impassioned and seemingly improvised, soulful live sets – demonstrated here on the ‘new music go-to’ youtube channel Eton Messy.

Having stumbled across Tom Misch back in 2013, we’ve seen the 19-year-old producer/singer/songwriter creating and collaborating on some truly impressive pieces. We’ve featured ‘Paper Planes’ from his latest release with Carmody – a truly honest, genuine and warm sound. Boasting an array of hiphop, soulful and upbeat infused productions and remixes, he has a strong un-released catalog on his soundcloud, give him a follow.

To round off our emerging talent we have ‘True Love’ from Tobias Jesso Jr, an artist that nearly put down songwriting after a snowballing series of unfortunate events back in 2012. Thankfully, he pursued writing songs and has a debut album dropping on March 16th on True Panther Records – already receiving top pre-release reviews due to the pure, authentic nature that depicts his journey over the past few years. Check out the video to his latest release, ‘How Could You Babe’ here.

Listen here to the full playlist and subscribe to hear all the latest playlists. Next week we’ve got another emerging talent playlist being released, if you think there’s anyone we’ve missed, tweet us with #SuperdrySounds so we can include.

With Superdry Rugby hitting the shelves and with the Rugby season well and truly underway we caught up with Gloucester Rugby Fly Half, James Hook to ask him what is next, any tips he has and his greatest rugby moments.

Superdry: If there were six things you could tell any rising rugby player, what would they be?

James Hook:

1- always follow your dreams.

2- keep practicing even when nobody else is.

3- listen to your family, friends and coaches and always be willing to take on good information and ignore bad information.

4- don’t let setbacks get in the way of what you want to achieve.

5- recover and eat well to give yourself the best chance possible.

6- most importantly play with a smile on your face, enjoy and remember it’s only a game.

SD: Earlier this year, James Holder, our brand & design director was asked in an interview what his personal 10 commandments were; do you have one training commandment that you live by?

JH: I always make sure I prepare fully for each game e.g. know my roles/moves for the up and coming game and practice my skills/kicking during the week until I’m happy.

SD: There was a huge turning point for Superdry, when we went from being a one man band to the global brand we are today, what is the most iconic moment you’ve had in your rugby career?

JH: Winning 2 grand slams and a championship with my country and representing the British and Irish lions.

SD: We are heavily into our music, with new playlists released every two weeks on our SoundCloud profile, which six songs get you amped up for a game or that you are listening to at the moment?

JH:

1-Ed sheeran- Lego house

2-stereophonics-Dakota

3-matchbox 20-real world

4-avicii-levels

5-flo rider-good feeling

6-David guetta feat Rihanna -who’s that chick

SD: We are obsessed with our product, the detail, fabric, design – everything, you are a Superdry fan as well, is there a Superdry product you just couldn’t do without?

JH: The Superdry polos and hoodies oh and joggers!

SD: So the final question, you’ve just moved back to the UK to join Gloucester Rugby (just around the corner from Superdry HQ) but what’s next for you?

JH: To keep improving as a player, keep building as a team with Gloucester Rugby and try to make the squad for the up and coming World Cup with Wales.

Last year we were gearing up for the biggest show on snow, Snowbombing to launch our first ever technical skiwear collection #SuperdrySnow. The collection launched in November with three pages in British Vogue! And last week we published our latest magazine, Superdry Edition Snow to bring you all the details about the collection.

There are three different levels to the range, full tech, for those whose ethos is ‘go hard or go home’, light tech for chilled out boarders or skiers, then après ski for when the lifts are closed. To help you pick the right jacket, we’ve pulled together our guide of what’s in each jacket.

Lets start with full tech

The spec:
> Ski Pass Holder
> Taped Seams
> Snow Seals
> Pit Zip Venting
> Fully waterproof
> Tech fabric
> Media pocket
> Multiple adjusters

In detail

Know your pit zip from your snow seals. Each of our full tech jackets are completely waterproof, made from tech fabric that is laminated and with taped seams to give extra protection from the elements. While inner snow skirts keep the snow out, and pit zips allow for much needed venting when on a serious run.

For laidback snowboarders, try light tech

The spec:

> Ski Pass Holder
> Weather tolerant
> Multiple adjusters
> Snow skirts
> Media pocket

In detail

With an easy-to-access lift pass holder, every angle of the jacket from the waist to cuffs are adjustable to keep the cold out. While the weather tolerant material can deal with moderate snow and rainfall, want to listen to some tunes on your way down the run? The media pocket means no messy cables.

Finally it’s on to the apres ski kit

The spec:

> Ski pass holder
> Multiple adjusters
> Light snow defence seals
> Light conditions tolerant
> H2o resistant

In detail

A range of chalet-ready jackets, but still with some serious tech built into them to make sure you can take them out on the slopes for some easy riding. There’s even a full fur jacket and gilet.

Still not sure which jacket to go for? Have a read of our new magazine to find out more and to shop direct from the pages, click here.

We’re ending February as we lived it, fast paced; channeled through heavy beats and incredible electric synths.  Kicking off the playlist we have Filip’s refreshing remix of our favourite, Honne’s ‘All In The Value’. Be sure to check the Swede’s soundcloud for more remixes https://soundcloud.com/filipartist”>here.

Next up is a hidden gem from L.A. based Sa-Ra back from 2006, ‘hollywood‘. Sa-Ra has worked with all the hip-hop greats such as Jay-Z, Jurassic 5, Pharaohe Monch, Erykah Badu and John Legend.

Track 7, ‘Time To Dance’ from French duo The Shoes – an easy win to get the party started. (random fact: Jake Gyllenhaal is the lead actor in the video for the song).

Moving down the playlist to track 9 is Ellie Herring’s remix of ‘Candour‘ from Manchester based Oceaán. A big track that comes out of nowhere! Oceaán has been working with the likes of Woman’s Hour & Låpsley who’ll be making waves this year.

Then we have Roska’s track ‘Higher’ feat Jamie George (one half of Moda Black Records). A delicate, bouncy track released late last year.

Further down is London/Berlin based producer and singer/songwriter Kindness ‘this is not about us’ – a chilled out addition to the track list. Currently touring America but has just been added to the line up of the London two day festival, Field Day – tipped as “the most anticipated [act] of the weekend”.

Next month we’ll be kicking off spring with our round-up of new and emerging talent, any suggestions tweet us using #SuperdrySounds.

Spring is on its way, this week we’re introducing dip dye hoods, lightweight jackets and for the first time mens jogg-jeans.

It may be spring, but that doesn’t mean you won’t need a jacket, introducing our service trench coat for men, the lightweight coat has neon trim and is ideal for layering.

Our orange label hoods are updated with an ombre effect in fun colours, orange, green and blue with pink arriving soon.

Finally two of our signature styles denim and joggers meet, introducing the Wilson jersey jean our first ever jogg-jean. The soft jogger inner is disguised by denim effect outer making laid-back sofa Sundays seriously stylish.

last week we launched the first of this month’s playlists, with some chilled out tunes to ease you into february. the playlist kicks off with Sydney based, hayden james’ ‘something about you’, this is his second track and he’s already being picked up across the uk, australia and the us; not surprising since he has been signed by one of the biggest labels in australia, future classic. next we’ve got e.doza’s silky edit of london based vocalists lauren k. faith’s track ‘without you’ a captivating and enticing remix.

this month’s playlist is a blend of modern synthetic tunes with old school classic guitar, piano and drum beats.  like our next track ‘the night’ from brits andy and james, better known as honne, who are definitely one to watch in 2015. have a listen and you’ll see why.

then it’s over to the two talented young americans with ‘trophy v6’. 14-year-old willow smith schools us in mellow beats, overlaid by vocals from big brother jayden smith, damn the smith household are talented! to finish up mr carmack’s new beat ‘fluxxed out’ while the last song on our playlist is a soulful track ‘coming home’ from texas based leon bridges.

each month we’ll be releasing two new playlists with all the music we are listening to as well as some of the tracks that are played in store… subscribe to our soundcloud channel, superdry sounds, for the latest playlists.
