Last weekend, the Superdry team packed up our bags and headed out to Switzerland for the Zurich Energy Fashion Night!

Trying our very best to resist the temptation of all the amazing Swiss choccy we saw en route, we headed to the Hallenstadion to meet the supermodels, who included Karolina Kurkova and Andrej Pejic, as well as the Superdry models; Daniel Bamdad and Rafael Beutl.

They were all ready to show off our amazing Spring Summer 2012 collection to a baying crowd of over 5000 fans! German Rock/Pop outfit MIA. kicked off the Superdry catwalk show with a bang and further musical entertainment was provided by Bastian Baker, Tove Styrke and Melanie Fiona who pumped out their own flavours of pumping basslines and visual light shows throughout the evening!

There’s something about the lo-fi aesthetic that makes the Superdry check shirt the perfect match for acoustic musicians, so we were thrilled to see Danish singer and songwriter Morten Remar wearing our Lumberjack Twill Shirt in the artwork for his latest album!

Morton is best known from being in the band Back to Back and their hugely successful track ‘Jonathan’. Now, after seven years away from the music business, he is back with his fourth solo, and self-titled album; Morten Remar – IN PERSON.
The record was written entirely in his backyard whilst looking after his family and is heavily influenced by his three children, the outdoors and his love of science!

The official album Release Party Concert in CPH is just around the corner (May 4th 2012) and it’s free admission too! So make sure you head down to PH Caféen, Halmtorvet 9A, 1700 København V for 8pm and you can be amongst the first to listen to all the tracks!

For more information on the man behind the music, why not take a look at his official page, or his Facebook page!

We’re super excited that Danish DJ, music producer and friend of Superdry, Kato has been busy working with US rapper Snoop Dogg on their new release ‘Never let you go’.

Lending his vocals to the track is Branson Beal who along with Kato had a blast collaborating with rap royalty, Snoop Dogg, who’s worked with big names; Dr. Dre and Katy Perry!

A huge fan of Superdry; we were lucky to have Kato at our Aarhus opening back in November last year much to our shoppers’ delight! We wish Kato luck on his upcoming album, which he is adding the finishing touches to, we see big things in the future for him!

The massive bi-annual fashion tradeshow Bread and Butter took place for its third consecutive year at the Tempelhof, Berlin. A team of Superdry HQ staff hopped on a plane to show off the new AW12 collection at the event! Our PR Coordinator Amy Campbell reports on her time there.

“The show is a great place to catch up with press and marketing contacts from the UK. The Press Office team met with editors from Cosmopolitan, Company, Men’s Health, Super Super and Shortlist, to name a few, during our trip.

Everything looked amazing, the stand with its iconic rusted metalwork (which can be seen from every angle in the venue!) and, of course, the clothes! It is always really exciting to see all the new lines come to life; my favourites were the punk-inspired graphic tees and the heritage tailoring – think amazing tweeds with jewel-coloured lining. Sitting alongside the new product were some old favourites; the Dry fragrances and Optics were really well received.

The biggest trend during the show seemed to be the ‘Dandy Cowboy’…lots of denim and vintage Americana looks – which of course suited Superdry down to a tee!”

Our latest SS12 stock is already making its way to our stores and on our website. Which pieces are you most excited about?!

Always thinking ahead, Superdry’s Spring/Summer ’12 collection is the most diverse to date and working with top fashion photographer, Jacob Sutton, the SS12 campaign images are preparing for their release next year.

Graphic fine thread tees are re-defined with progressive blocks and art-house decorations that push the Superdry language. Tailored swim launches as a full concept which includes vintage board shorts and silk touch rive-inspired bikinis.

We’ve got a treat for our readers to be the first to see the behind-the-scenes video, showing you the workings of a Superdry shoot and the first glimpses of our SS12 collection, due for release in the spring! Produced by Pulse, they’ve captured the relaxed atmosphere of the shoot, getting us all excited for the new season ahead! Enjoy!

One of Superdry’s favourite British chefs, Jamie Oliver, was spotted wearing our Lumberjack shirt in Germany last week while promoting his book, ‘Jamie’s Great Britain’.

The celebrity chef swapped his pots and pans for pen and paper at the Bullerei Restaurant in Hamburg and was busy signing copies for his fans. Jamie’s been bitten by the Superdry bug and he’s seen regularly in our Lumberjack shirts. He’s also been spotted wearing them on TV and was rocking them whilst promoting his books in Canada and America last year!

Thanks for the love Jamie!

Today we’re catching up with our Danish bloggers who are taking part in Superdry’s ‘Bloggers Countdown’ leading to the opening of our new Aarhus store in Denmark tomorrow.

Yesterday was the turn of Boom Bam blog, the place for hip-hop, fashion, lifestyle and photography. The team’s made up of Niels, Anders and Sigurd who describe themselves as very different but have two things in common: the love for trainers and caps! They all agree their best Superdry pick is the grey Crewneck, which they feature, in their Superdry photoshoot. Check out the styles they’ve put together using our Lumberjack shirt, tees, jumpers and the men’s Duffle bag.

Blogging about us today is Yin Pang from Pangcakes, a fan of our laptop bag, laptop sleeves and the SS12 Oxford shoes. The eye grabbing shoes have coloured soles and laces, which will be available in a choice of different colours. We’d like to thank all of our super bloggers, we love your creative and bold takes on Superdry and look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow at the opening party along with our new customers!

Superdry has officially landed in China with the opening of the flagship store – Hong Kong! To celebrate this landmark we held an exclusive party inviting guests to come and see the new store in all it’s glory; amongst them celebrity guests including Florinda Ho, Real Ting and Alex Lam, who were seen sporting the latest Superdry collections! As well as the celebs and press who flocked to the event, the show saw some familiar Superdry faces including our very own chief executive officer of wholesale and International, Theo Karpathios, alongside many excited colleagues from the UK head office.

The night held it’s very own catwalk show and attendees could try their luck with our specially made Superdry one arm bandit – those who managed to match three graphics in a row won an exclusive Superdry gift! Those who weren’t able to make it to the event still managed to see a glimpse of the Superdry mini’s parading around the city to signal our arrival! Keep an eye out on the blog for more Chinese openings that will be coming soon!

Superdry have teamed up with singer-songwriter Albert Aguilar for a week-long festival of music and fashion!

1band1brand is a free, subscription-based platform that introduces emerging, independent musicians to fashion labels. Subscribers are provided with special offers and encouraged to “hear, wear and share” what they discover.

Albert is a singer-songwriter from Oklahoma City and performs in his own unique style of folk-pop, leveraging melodic guitar and an extraordinary vocal range to create dynamic songs that are honest and real. He reveals his major musical influences as Bon Iver, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Buckley, and began his venture as a solo artist by moving to Los Angeles as a twenty-year-old. Albert soon returned to Oklahoma City to be near his friends and family and begin a more typical Midwest career, becoming more socially active and able to observe the local music scene at arm’s length. When Albert returned to his passion for music as a professional, he was quickly swamped with cross-country stage performances and tireless recording sessions, whilst rubbing-shoulders with the movers and shakers of an industry desperate to produce something bigger and better.

Albert’s clothing style is inspired by his roots in the Midwest and his connection to Superdry’s vintage Americana style reinforces his retro look. 1band1brand believes that Aguilar’s career is set to go from strength-to-strength with support from Superdry and the release of a brand new EP, which made its debut on June 25th at the Blue Door in Oklahoma City. The six song CD, aptly titled “Where To Go From Here” was produced by Graham Colton at Blackwatch Studios in Norman, Oklahoma – name your own price and download Albert’s newest tracks with the 1band 1brand™ Music Sampler!

The 1band1brand service hopes to expand its brand in the future, with possibilities of merchandise, collaborations and live events integration. Stay tuned for updates on Albert’s career and further Superdry collaborations!
