It’s the biggest dilemma of the summer – how to look your best when you’re throwing yourself into the festival spirit. Spending your weekend trudging between the campsite & main stage doesn’t mean beauty has to take a back seat. This summer we’ve come to your rescue with the Festival Kit, the ultimate multi-tasker.

This hardworking little number is destined to become your festival best friend. Packaged neatly in a hot pink water bottle for hydration on the go, the kit contains everything you need to look great all day, until the final band of the night leaves the stage. The nifty expandable fresh tabs require a splash of water to work their magic to remove last nights make-up while refreshing cucumber & lemon face mist gives you a pick-me-up when you need it. The rescue balm comes in handy for all beauty dilemmas – it’s a real hero product. Use it from your face to your feet for soothing & rehydrating those dry areas after a day at the main stage. Hardworking black mascara & a no-mirror-required electric pink sheer lip crayon complete the picture. It’ll make everyone believe you’ve just stepped out of the VIP chill-out area even when you’re in the middle of the mosh pit.

For its size, our Festival Kit really punches above its weight. Seriously, when it comes to summer party survival, it’s at the top of our list.

Alex has been studying BA (HONS) Fashion Design and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan University. We had a quick catch up with Alex & asked her a few questions…

Why do you love Superdry?

I love Superdry because the clothes have subtle detailing which makes each item unique in its own way. There are also different levels of design like Superdry Premium & Orange Label, which match different consumer markets…I like how this offers more & more choice to customers…plus I used to work in a Superdry store!

What is your favourite item of Superdry clothing?

Easy! It’s an Orange Label zip hood as they are super comfy, easy to add a pop of colour to an outfit & gorgeous to wear.

What is your inspiration in life?

My inspiration is the architecture & manipulation on designs that contour the shape of the body through clothing. I love what you can do with clothes! What also inspires me is watching a small brand developing into a worldwide known brand, loved by all. This drives me to pursue what I want to do in life & I hope I can do that at Superdry

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work I see my friends a lot, go to the gym & walk my dog. I am a huge lover of Vogue & Elle magazine so I could spend days reading them…I’ve spent 10 years collecting them!

Most looking forward to when working with us…?

I’m really looking forward to sharing my skills & ideas with the team that makes Superdry designs so perfect when they hit the shops. I’m so happy to be working for such an exciting company!

Holiday packing is always tricky but we’re here to help you make those precious kilos work harder. Welcome to the Superdry summer holiday edit…

Sunglasses have got to be the number one holiday item whether you’re heading to the beach, lazing by the pool or taking in the city sights. They’re a great way to vary your look: choose aviators for a classic men’s frame while girls go cute and preppy with Cotton. For a hot colour pop, check out our Shockwave style for women & Motor X for men.

If jetting off to another timezone isn’t an excuse for a new watch, we don’t know what is! The Scuba is a great way to add a colour injection to a summer look. Water resistant to 10m, it’s pool-friendly too. Flip flops are another warm-weather essential: our latest collection has even more great styles to choose from.

Hat-wise, do you go beanie or snapback? That’s the big question. Actually, even we can’t decide so we’re bringing both. The vest also comes into its own when the sun’s out. It’s an easy way to rock a Superdry logo on holiday and looks great layered up. Girls vests get a nautical boost with a seaside-inspired stripe – perfect whether you’re by the beach or not.

& don’t forget to take your Superdry style poolside this summer with our soft cotton logo beach towel. Of course, we’re not suggesting you use it to bag yourself a beach lounger. We’d never suggest that…!

So there you have it – the Superdry summer essentials. The only thing you have to do is remember your passport. It’s the one thing we can’t provide to guarantee your holiday is epic!

Why do you love Superdry?

It’s a UK brand that is made with a Japanese touch & I am Japanese made with a UK touch. A perfect match! I love that the brand is linked to its origins & inspirations.

What is your favourite item of Superdry clothing?

My favourite item of Superdry is the short sleeve shirts. I love how delicate the stitching is, the attention to detail on every part & also the pinpoint logos which states that it’s by Superdry & just screams ‘high quality’

What is your inspiration in life?

Career wise one day I’d love to be a chartered accountant & work as a CFO, but for now, i’m getting stuck into my Superdry Intern Scheme – I love it already!

What do you do outside of work?

I keep fit & work out at the gym & enjoy walks. The Japanese side of me is very geeky & I love Comics, Films, Music & other pop culture. I am always playing with technology….

Most looking forward to when working with us…

I am really looking forward to the projects I will be able to work on & hopefully something I can ‘stitch my name’ onto & a career in the future with Superdry

359 Upper Street, Islington. A grade II listed building, formerly a tram shed & The Mall Antiques Arcade, held host to the opening of our brand new concept store launch event. Inside the store is laden with bespoke fixtures & antique furnishing which are a nod to the building’s history, including several features which were influenced by & are a tribute to Newgate prison.

To open the event held on July 3rd, up & coming band Big Deal played a stripped down acoustic set, whilst guests shopped the collection over the two floors, tucking into the pick ‘n’ mix sweet counter. Tailors Hawthrone & Heaney provided an exclusive live monogramming experience, which was offered free with any Superdry + Timothy Everest Tailoring purchase.

Guests sipped on cocktail coolers skillfully crafted by the mixologists & crowded around the DJ booth listening to The In Crowd on the decks. A DJ collective featuring Ricki Hall, Ami Carmine, Siggy Smalls & Them & Us.

Don’t forget you can now visit our brand new store at 359 Upper Street, Islington, London where you can shop our SS14 collection.

Whether you’re partying hard or kicking back in the sunshine, the pool is the number one destination for summer & we’ve got your back when it comes to looking cool by the pool.

Our mens’ shorts ensure guys pull off poolside style all the way from the high dive to the bar. For a Hawaiian vibe check out the honululu, go for a classic nautical look with the beach hut or rock the colour block trend with the sun block swim short. Throw on a vest or a logo tee & that’s your summer look right there.

The pool party is where the humble flip flop really comes into its own so shop now for our latest collections for men & women. Girls styles in neon pops, dip dyesmetallics add colourful chic; guys choose from classic colour contrasts or smart leather styles. & remember, they don’t take up much room in your case so you can pack more than one pair!

Girls’ bikinis come in bandeaus, halters & classic triangles. Will you go striped, neon or classic this summer? Or check out the subtle storm cloud bikini – summer clouds never looked so good. Our Inka beach shawl is a great boho-inspired cover up or add a surf-edged tinge with the thigh-skimming beach hotpants.

When we say ‘don’t forget your waterproofs’ we talking about our water-resistant Scuba watch in men’s & women’s styles. Great for adding a pop of colour or timing laps in the pool…

Jess has been studying BA (HONS) in Fashion Retail Management at Birmingham City University & started the Superdry Intern Scheme last month where she joined the Marketing, PR & Creative Media teams. We caught up with her & asked her a few questions…

Why do you love Superdry?

I love Superdry because it is a successful, British brand growing stronger & stronger around the world. I am excited for the brands future & I can’t wait to play my part in Superdry’s creative direction.

What is your favourite item of Superdry clothing?

My favourite piece has to be the premium biker jacket. A staple classic that everyone must have in their wardrobes…I LOVE it!

What is your inspiration in life?

To learn as much as I can about something I love & become the best person I can be. My grandma taught me “What’s meant to be will always find a way” and I knew, for me, working for Superdry was meant to be! She was right!

What do you do outside of work?

When I am not working I will most likely be at the gym, socialising & spending time with my family and friends.

Most looking forward to when working with us…

I am most looking forward to working as part of the Superdry family & learning more about the Superdry world. Putting together advertising campaigns, creative concepts and planning future events for Superdry are just a few things I can’t wait to explore.

Don’t forget you can apply to become a superdry intern. Simply send your cv & a cover letter to us at superdryinterns@supergroup.co.uk telling us why you’d love to work with us.

Saturday night saw us showcase our upcoming Spring/Summer 15 collection at London Collections: Men.

LC:M features the best of British fashion talent, with a mixture of both emerging stars & heavy weight heritage brands. We were thrilled to be part of such a huge event for the third time.

For men, our Spring/Summer 15 collection features beach-to-bar hand-drawn Hawaiian prints, preppy pastels & Italiana led style, with denim shorts & signature graphic print t-shirts forming the perfect capsule wardrobes.

Our womenswear features loose layering, with cropped t-shirts in eye catching tie-dye & floral prints to unleash your inner boho style, as well as sequin-adorned tees & exciting new denim styles with embellished pockets.

Over 500 special guests joined us at London’s Ewer Street Arches to preview the collection. Sipping on basil cooler cocktails from our bespoke bar & eating premium pizzas & lobster rolls from a vintage airstream caravan; guests were then invited through to the catwalk space ahead of the show.

Celebrity guests included DJ Mark Ronson, who later took to the decks to kick off the after party, Hollywood star Jesse Metcalfe, MTV presenter Lilah Parsons, Model & British Fashion Council Ambassador David Gandy & social media sensations, Tanya Burr & Jim Chapman, among others.

The show went down a storm, with guests agreeing SS15 is our most progressive collection to date. Afterwards it was time to show our guests what we do second best & the after-party began.

Mark Ronson hit the decks as we danced the night away. Not forgetting our British heritage, we showed the England vs Italy first found World Cup game to partygoers, while they enjoyed Asahi beer.

You can check out our video & read what everyone thought of #SuperdrySS15 over on Twitter. Don’t forget have a look at our pictures from the night over on Instagram too.
