With festival season well and truly rocking the world music scene, we’ve been sharing the events that should be on any veteran raver’s calendar as well as our ultimate style tips. This month, however, we went one step further and actually gave our fans the chance to attend one of the UK’s hottest festivals.

We teamed up with South West Four (SW4) to offer one of our fans the chance to win weekend tickets for two to wave goodbye to the last bank holiday of 2015 in style. All fans had to do was tweet us the act they wanted to see the most using #SuperFan on Twitter. Entries ranged from Andy C and Sigma, to Faithless and Basement Jaxx, so one thing we’ve learnt is that you guys love a rave! Our lucky winner, Morgan Haringman, is getting ready to be sent to SW4 on Sunday.

Held at London’s Clapham Common, SW4 has been running annually since 2004 and has been dubbed ‘the crowning glory’ of the capital’s festivals by superstar DJ Carl Cox. Many of the world’s leading DJs and live electronic acts descend upon London for this truly exceptional festival and with the summer coming to an end, what better way to round it off!

Electronic and dance music has dominated the charts for the past year, so it’s safe to say that whoever goes is promised an unforgettable experience with probably the biggest line-up in the history of SW4. With legends like Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren and Faithless across 8 indoor and outdoor stages, what’s not to love?

Missed your chance to enter? With all tickets now unfortunately sold out, there’s one saving grace – South West More! Even after a full day of dancing, there are after parties being held on both the Saturday and Sunday, with tickets now available on the SW4 website.

We would love to see and hear about your SW4 antics so share your #FestivalStyle with us on Twitter @Superdry or Instagram @SuperdryGlobal and we’ll give you a shout out!

Last night we hosted the finals of the incredible Elite Model Look competition in our Regent Street Flagship store.

In the pursuit of finding the freshest new model in the UK, for the 7th year, Elite launched its Elite Model Look competition. With hundreds of applicants and young hopefuls scouted on the street by the Elite Model Look scouts, the pros had a tough job whittling down the competition to just 40 semi-finalists.

The semi-finals held on Wednesday were a gruelling affair, kicking off with catwalk training followed by an intense swimwear walk and finishing up with a full catwalk in front of the panel of judges. It was a tough judging panel to please, with the CEO of Elite London, Michelangelo Chiacchio heading the table alongside, Director of Elite London, France Chiacchio, Victoria DaSilva Director of Elite Model World, Elite Model Look Ambassador Oliver Proudlock as well as our Superdry Stylist Anna Conger all taking notes.

After an intense semi-final the panel got it down to just ten competing for the opportunity to be entered into the Elite Model Look International Final and a contract with the prestigious agency. Putting all their practice into action, the finalists took to the catwalk for one final show in front of some of the UK’s biggest editors, fashion bloggers and fashion ambassadors.

When it came down to it the competition was just too high, and the judges couldn’t decide on just two winners, so selected four, drumroll please…

Elite Model Look Winners:

Chris Tydings, 16

Charlotte Corn, 17

Superdry Model Look Winners:

Kofi Morris Heather, 18

Ellie Jordan, 15

We caught up with each of the finalists, check out the interviews next week on the blog as well as a post from Sarah Michaela who styled two of the looks that hit the catwalk.

Fashion blogger, Josie Fear aka Fashion Mumblr, won herself a backstage pass and the chance to take over our social channels for our launch event of Idris Elba + Superdry, read about the event through her eyes!

“It’s not everyday that you find yourself behind the scenes in one of Regent Streets biggest stores, locked in a room with dozens of topless male models. OK, there may not have been dozens but after seeing a certain amount of six packs, one tends to loose count! This was me last night, after the team at Superdry gave me an Access All Areas pass for their Idris Elba + Superdry London Collections Men (LCM) presentation.

MORE importantly * ahem * I was there to get a first glimpse at the Idris Elba collection. Other than the man himself and the Superdry team, I was the first person ever to see the collection, how cool is that?! I could immediately spot the Idris Elba influence; the tailored wool pea coats that I can just picture him wearing, striding down the streets of London town (yep, got Luther in my head!), his signature Monogram jackets, and some premium detailing within triple stitched outerwear and some incredibly wearable denim pieces. Also part of the 250 piece collection were some luxurious sportswear pieces, but with a more refined and high fashion element compared to the usual bright and energetic Superdry range.

Well, if anyone knows how to throw a party, Superdry do! Heading back downstairs, their showroom had been transformed into a full on party, kicking off London Collections Men in Superdry style – there were ice sculptures, cocktails on tap, and even Idris Elba’s best pal in the DJ booth, DJ Boogie.

Idris introduced the collection dressed in a seriously cool IE emblazoned hoodie and dark washed jeans, and told us all why he chose Superdry as a brand that he wanted to collaborate with. The pieces are timeless, luxurious and iconic – mixing the modern gentleman with the Superdry stylish customer.

The crowd of fashion bloggers, press, and fashion VIPs leaned in for a closer look at the collection; the 20 strong army of male models showed us how to style this stylish range; with pops of colour peeking out from under the collars, exquisitely tailored coats over smart polos, and leather jackets toughening up a grey marl jumper.

The collection hits the stores in November and thanks to Idris, the men folk of London and beyond will be looking seriously dapper this Autumn Winter with this fabulous collaboration.

I had a super evening with the team at Superdry – thank you guys for having me and for such a great party!”

Last night we kicked off London Collections Men in style with the launch of our biggest collaboration to date, Superdry + Idris Elba. Social media was buzzing from 7pm as press, celebrities and the British Fashion Council gathered to see a preview of the 250-piece collection. At 8pm the audience were hushed as the stage was cleared for the presentation to begin. An army of models marched onto the second floor of our Regent Street flagship store. Standing in formation the models looked frozen in time as Idris Elba, himself, introduced the audience to our collaboration.

If you missed the action on our Periscope channel last night, check out all the highlights here.

During the event we were joined by blogger Fashion Mumblr who won herself a backstage pass to the collection preview earlier this week and will be taking over our pinterest page and blog later today.

This month we’re kicking off #SuperdrySounds with an epic mix from our Snowbombing competition winner X-Ray Ted. The 44-minute long mix encompasses all we want from summer, banging beats, smooth lyrics and immense mixing.

X-Ray Ted caught the eye of DJ Yoda back in 2014 when the Bristol-based DJ uploaded his mini-mix to win a set at our Arctic Disco at Snowbombing. But that wasn’t his only festival playing at the likes of Boomtown, Eden, Shambala and Shindig Weekender in the past year.

And he has yet another summer filled with music for us with his new single ‘Bass Bin Tactics’ as well as his four track EP both dropping soon, not to mention another mix for us in a few months!

Check out the full mix from last weeks #SuperdrySounds update below, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel for all the latest updates.

But that’s not all, you’ll be given exclusive access to our event to take your snaps and get a first look at our Idris Elba + Superdry collection, as well as an outfit to wear to the event (courtesy of Superdry of course).

To enter, share a photo or selfie of your hottest look right now on Instagram using the hashtag #IdrisElbaXSuperdry by midnight on Monday 8th June. We’ll pick our favorite and notify the winner on Tuesday 9th June, but remember you must be available on Thursday 11 June.

On Monday, we headed down to the incredible Rush Skate Park to watch the amazing Rebel School Jam Finals.

Rush Skate Park is a unique venue, the biggest indoor skate area in the cotswolds, the awesome atmosphere is matched by the equally jaw dropping design and style. Not only is the skate area enormous it’s also massively diverse. Loaded with grind pipes, bowl ramps, half pipes and even a foam pit to practise those difficult to perfect tricks.

Ross Domanski from Marling School
