Early on Friday morning the Superdry Team grabbed their tents and headed to Somerset for the annual action sports and music event. As the roads got narrower and the cows more frequent; we knew we must be close to the Bath and West Showground where NASS Festival is held.

We joined thousands of music and action sports fans, along with some of the most celebrated international action sport athletes, DJs and bands. Across the weekend NASS Festival showcased competitions and demonstrations for skate, inline, BMX, FMX and scooter.

As the sun set, the music kick started the ambiance at the festival which became even more electric as bass lines resonated around the showground. The Superdry Team made a beeline to the main stage to catch Nero’s epic set! After seeing Nero earlier in the festival season at the Parklife Weekender, we knew we would be guaranteed a treat! After, we migrated to the drum and bass arena to catch amazing sets from 2010 scene breakthrough acts Flux Pavilion, Joker and Breakage. We even managed to squeeze in a giveaway live on our Twitter page and the lovely Karl George and Jess Crowley were our winners!

There was no time for a lie-in on Saturday morning; the sun was shining and the competitions were well underway by 10am. Most exciting for Superdry was our very own Scott Bagnall and Simon Coburn both competing in the inline completion! The boys both competed tremendously; earning impressive scores and flew through qualifying, which is when the real celebrations started!

Saturday saw Tinie Tempah, Camo and Krooked, Netsky, DJ Hype and DJ Fresh playing.

Before we knew it Sunday morning had come around and The Superdry Team headed straight down to the Pro Park Course to watch the inline final. We also managed to catch some of the other sports highlighted across the festival before packing up our tents and heading to our much missed beds!

Glastonbury. For anybody who went, the festival is probably still ringing in your ears! This years epic UK festival was unforgettable and unsigned band, Brave Yesterday very kindly offered to share their experiences as they debut at the festival on the John Peel stage. The rock band from Jersey is made up of Chris, Craig, Alex and Shaun who opened the stage on the Saturday.

“We woke up early on the Saturday, for the most part of the morning we were all so tired, but then the nerves, excitement and anticipation started to kick in as we were getting our equipment together and warming up. We had watched Cocoon play the same slot as us a day earlier on the Friday, which was a great show with an incredible atmosphere. That’s what we had expected it would be like when we played and we were not disappointed.

We started to set up before the stage even opened as we were scheduled on stage nice and early. We didn’t experience the usual crowds waiting at the front for the next band to start. However unbeknown to us, once we had set up and were waiting side stage for the Compere to introduce us, a few hundred people appeared around the perimeter to the stage and waited to be let in. We were taken aback, walking on stage to see so many faces in the crowd, which only grew throughout the set. The reception from the crowd was amazing! The stage and set up were equally impressive and the atmosphere of the set was second to none for us, something we will never forget!

Everyone shares a tranquil, friendly and open-minded attitude. This makes the Glastonbury crowd probably the best festival crowd in the world. We felt a lot of that love from the festival goers who watched us play, it was great.

For anybody who has never experienced Glastonbury or a music festival, it really depends on who you are and how much luxury you feel necessary to take with you. We saw people there who looked like they had been wearing only one item of clothing for the entire duration of the festival, with probably nothing more than a glorified cardboard box in which to sleep! However, we also saw people who looked like they had brought everything short of the foundations of their house.

To add, there are the certain obvious festival essentials like toilet paper we would advise you to be prepared to stock up on and we would also advise festival goers take plenty of whatever makes them feel comfortable enough to maximise their enjoyment and festival experience. No one wants to go to a festival and feel miserable (or toilet paper-less.)

Glastonbury has such a variety of bands that quite often we as a group were watching bands separately, but we still came together for others. A few of the bands we watched together were the Wu-Tang Clan, Jimmy Eat World and City and Colour. All were equally incredible for entirely different reasons and really show how diverse the acts at Glastonbury can be, from rap, to alternative rock, to acoustic folk.”

Thanks so much for the blog post guys, a massive achievement for Brave Yesterday and we hope to hear more soon!

The weekend saw the return of the annual Goodwood, Festival of Speed in West Sussex. Being one of the UK’s most prestigious motor shows in the UK, it is also one of the best in the world and this year’s event was no exception with the unveiling of the Morgan 3 wheeler –Superdry Edition!

UK rapper Dizzee Rascal unveiled our motorcar, where it later became the centre of attention on the Morgan stand with many visitors including our own Brand and Design Director, James Holder.

Dizzee wasn’t the only celeb to be spotted at Goodwood during the weekend, U.S TV host and avid car collector, Jay Leno could be seen enjoying the event. On track formula 1 super stars, Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton proved their skills by wowing the crowds with some of their driving flare, throwing their cars across the track and pulling them into sideward slides.

If that wasn’t enough, there were plenty of action at the cricket pitch which had been converted into the Goodwood ActionSports Arena. Daredevil stunts by some of the worlds best gravity-defying motorcross rider, performing all types of aerial tricks and flips which delighted the crowd!
More highlights of the weekend included a mighty performance by the Red Arrow team. Showing off some of their high-octane stunts overhead, they were the highlight which could be seen and heard throughout the festival!

If you went to the Goodwood Festival of Speed and have any photos with you next to the Morgan 3 Wheeler – Superdry Edition, don’t forget to upload and tag yourself in them on our Facebook page!

Yesterday, Superdry took a trip to the Morgan Motor Company based in Malvern, UK. The factory was buzzing with activity with cars in all stages of construction. Three were being worked on for their debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, one of them being our own Superdry Morgan three-wheeler!

Let’s give you a quick low-down on the Morgan Company. Harry Morgan built the first car in 1909 with the help of engineering master, William Stephenson-Peach. With its three wheels – two at the front, one at the rear – it was a car/motorbike hybrid, which became renowned for its speed because of its light framework. A unique combination of performance with economy means the three-wheeler can go from 0-60 in 4 seconds with 50 miles to a gallon. Impressive stuff!

The beauty of all Morgan cars is the care and attention behind each production. The oak framing is hand crafted and sanded, the aluminum bodywork is hand-cut and shaped. The details and trims are made according to the buyer’s preferences. One of the leading features about Morgan cars is this bespoke service on each and every vehicle.

With the help of our talented team, the Superdry design was put together focusing on aeronautic influences. A sleek metallic body with the iconic Superdry Japanese text along with distressed, quilted leather interior is what to expect. We managed to catch Richy Baldwin, our graphic designer who was busy hand painting the graphics on the car exterior.

Superdry and Morgan are proud to collaborate on such an exciting project. Two iconic British brands joining forces. Morgan’s exquisite engineering along with Superdry’s skilled design to make the Morgan three-wheeler – Superdry Edition!

Stay tuned for more on the unveiling of the completed car and an interview with Charles Morgan, the grandson of Henry and current owner of the company!

This bank holiday Sunday, British boyband, The Wanted came to Superdry’s home county of Gloucestershire for a massive gig at the Gloucester Rugby Club! As friends of Superdry, the band kindly invited us to watch them live and for a pre-gig catch up!

Superdry’s PR and Marketing girls, Amy, Michaela and Charlie turned up whilst the band were busy warming up and filming for their backstage DVD. There was a tremendous air of excitement as it was a particularly special gig for youngest member Nathan, who was performing in front of his hometown crowd!

Thank you for a great time guys!

The day finally arrived! This Saturday, our group of Superdry staff braved it to Canock Chase to take part in the Prima Challenge! At a grueling 5am start, the teams were set for their physical challenge on top of brain teasers thrown in along the way to pass each stage (mental arithmetics anyone?!). The team made it in one piece, without a participant turning up to work with a hobble or a limp on Monday!

Superdry raised just under £10,000 which goes towards textile industry workers in poorer communities. A massive well done to all who took part!
