Superdry. Trinity Leeds. The Live Series.

On Saturday 27th April we well and truly brought the noise to Trinity Leeds Shopping centre as Jacob Banks, Bashy, Amplify Dot, Kay-C and the Dilation DJ’s, took to the stage in our first ever #LiveSeries event.

Getting the crowd hyped pre-event was resident beatboxer, Contrix; and our breakdancer/bodypopper combo of Kieran Lai (of All Stars movie fame) and Issie, who were off the chain!

First to take the mic was Kay-C and what a way to kick things off!

Next up was South London’s finest, Amplify Dot, who dropped her trademark flow and witty lyrics. When she dropped her brand new track, Kurt Cobain, the crowd went wild.

Just as well really as the next act well and truly blew the roof off! His friends know him as ashley thomas, you may know him as the Mixtape Legend, but we know him as the award-winning BASHY!

Spittin’ bars left right and centre, the crowd were up on their feet, in your face, and getting down.

Taking things down a level (which was much needed after Bashy’s high-octane set) was an intimate performance from midlands-born Jacob Banks, who was the headline act of the first ever #LiveSeries

Thursday 11th April 2013 was a big day in the Superdry calendar. not only were we previewing our AW13 collection to the most established Fashion writers, journalists and bloggers in the uk, but we were also getting to launch something big…

And by big we mean The Superdry + Timothy Everest womens sebiro collection!

The biggest names in fashion spent the day in the showroom of  our flagship store on London’s famous Regent Street,  checking out the collection that will be released later in the year.

Our AW13 collection features well-loved and classic Superdry pieces as well as a new grown-up collection of female tailoring that oozes modern, feminine glamour.

Womens denim has had a major overhaul with new wash techniques for jeans, complete with a vibrant palette of animal prints, dip dyes and unique shades of raspberry and winter green, whilst our menswear takes inspiration from the past with a heavy dose of the new. Think retro fairisle knits in crew and roll neck styles, updated with pops of neon yarn and navajo details.

Our standout attraction, and something that put a smile on the faces of the writers from of Vogue, Grazia, Company Magazine, Elle & GQ to name a few, was our Exclusive Social Media Mirror!

Our guests were given the chance to take their photo on the huge interactive, touch screen mirror and share in real time to their social media pages!

Following the successful launch of the tailored collection for men, the evening saw the unveiling of the new Superdry + Timothy Everest Womens Sebiro Collection to a very packed audience. At 6pm sharp the curtains opened to the new pieces from the exclusive collection. The Town Coat, The Country Rebel, The Rock Rebel and The Muse, designed specifically for the modern women. From ‘Rock Chic’ to ‘Country Rebel, it is a trans-seasonal collection of core tailored staples, which echo unequalled atention to detail, super cuts and the finest quality cloths around.

Yesterday marked the grand opening of our ‘Flagship Store of the North‘ right in the heart of the brand new shopping destination, Trinity Leeds.

Leaving in the dark at 5.30am, (until yesterday we didn’t know that time even existed!) we packed the photography equipment and hit the road to join the huge crowds of people waiting to enter the shopping centre at 10am, and we were almost swept off our feet in the excitement of happy shoppers!

The Superdry store, which can be found on the Lower ground floor via the Albion Street entrance, is a whopping 16,000 square feet and our biggest store outside of london. with those figures you can see how it’s been dubbed our flagship of the North!

It features our brand new SS13 collection, summer-ready accessories including hats, sunglasses and flip-flops and all the classic Superdry pieces that you all know and love.

Decked out in a similar aesthetic to Superdry International, our global flagship store on London’s famous Regent Street, you’ll find a huge TV screened video wall, sleeper-mounted railway carriages and custom built changing rooms.

Were you at the grand opening? Did you pick up an exclusive Superdry ‘Tee in a tin?”

If you haven’t already seen over on our Facebook page, we’ve been asking for your beauty questions to put forward to our in-house Make-up artist, Natasha.

We managed to grab 5 minutes with Natasha, and ask her your beauty woes…

here’s what she had to say!

“What key pieces would you recommend from the Superdry beauty collection?”

Natasha: Personally, I  love the highlighter and blushers. But the chunky eye marker is my favourite. It looks like a felt tip pen but goes on like a liquid liner –  fab!

“I’m looking for something perfect for a saturday night in town – what would you recommend?”

Natasha: The eyeshadow duo in blackboard/fog teamed with our kohl pencil and mascara look great together. These are perfect for creating a smoky eye look ideal for the weekend!

“I have blonde hair and pale skin, what lip glaze colour would best suit me?”

Natasha: The good thing about the lip glaze is they are transparent and give a lovely glossy finish. But try the Rose Pink for a subtle hint of colour in the daytime.

“What are your key Superdry Beauty pieces that you use when preparing a model for a photoshoot?”

Natasha: I use all of it! But my key item is the blusher in burnt coral. I also love to use the lip paint in Electric pink for a pop of colour!

“I’m looking for an everyday look. What would you use for that?”

Natasha: Try the highlighter on your cheekbones for a dewy finish. Pair with our rapture pink blusher, mascara and finish off with the sweet peach lip glaze!

“Would i use your lip fix like lip balm?”

Natasha: Yes, lipFix is great for sorting out chapped lips – it leaves the lips soft and moisturised.

“What are your top 3 tips of make-up?”

1. Apply a little lip fix when you start your make-up then go on to do everything else. When you come back to do your lipstick you’ll find your lips nice and soft!

2. Add a bit of the highlighter down the centre of your nose and forehead to add a dewy finish to your skin. If you pop a bit on your cupids bow it will make your lips appear fuller, too!

3. If you don’t feel like wearing a full on red lip, try dabbing on our rebel red lip paint for a subtle look!

“How do i make my small eyes look bigger?”

Natasha: Oooh, good question! Stay away from dark colours. Try our powder rose eyeshadow, or if you really want your eyes to pop go for secura blue eye shadow shade. It’s such a big shade this season!

“Do you style your make-up around what you wear? How do i do this?”

Natasha: Most days yes, but i tend to go with what mood i am in! If i am feeling bright and playful i love to wear electric pink lip paint. If i don’t feel like wearing much make-up i put on a little eyeliner with lipglaze. I say it’s always best to go with how you feel that day!

“What was the first thing you wanted to play with when you saw the Superdry Beauty?”

Natasha: The eye marker – it looks like a felt tip pen.

“What is your favourite brand of make-up?”

Natasha: Superdry of course!

Thanks Natasha! If you have any questions, let us know over on Facebook or Twitter!

Have you ever found yourself thinking: “What would I buy with a £500 voucher from Superdry?”

Bijal Jaffer, our recent ‘win £500 worth of Superdry vouchers’ competition winner found herself thinking just that!

When asked what she picked up, Bijal told us: “I bought all the things I needed…  a jacket, a winter coat, two knitwear jumpers and a couple of tops! I would have bought more, but used the rest for my husband  who bought a jacket, joggers and a hoodie! I think he was more excited than me!”

And in true Superdry-style, we also threw in personal shopper experience, too!

“My experience in the store was great! And was a great big store for everything I needed!  Having a personal shopper was the best.  I felt like a celebrity with lots of money!”

If you want to follow in Bijal’s footsteps and win a £500 Superdry shopping voucher (who wouldn’t!) simply head over to Superdry.com and sign up for our newsletter!

And if you’re feeling really REALLY lucky, why not enter for a chance for you and five friends to win a five-day trip to Miami, too!

Bijal added: “You won’t be disappointed if you win and you never know… It could be you who wins next time!  Thanks Superdry!”

Exciting things were happening at our store in One New Change shopping centre last Friday – we invited two nail technicians to join us for an afternoon to treat and pamper some lucky Superdry fans!

Our nail bar was jam-packed throughout the day as we got to show off both our spectrum of nail paints and our new Superdry Beauty range.

Customers were also treated to a look at our new SS13 collection while they were being pampered!

…What a great way to spend an afternoon!

The fashion elite have been on top form during London Fashion Week 2013, and never one to miss a fashion and beauty opportunity, we were there too.

Before heading to the capital, we caught up with our in-house stylist, Natalie, to find out what she thinks the capital’s fashionistas will be rocking.

She told us: “The sports luxe trend and neon are huge for spring/summer and so easy to create with some wardrobe staples.”

And as predicted, that’s what we saw!

Amongst all the bright neons and contrast prints we showed off our new Superdry Beauty collection to a host of of hand picked bloggers, including Bunnipunch, Dutchess Roz, Really Ree, Acid Brights and Glam and Glitter to name a few.

We particually loved the way Lois shone bright in her Shore sweater crew and how Monica from The Elgin Avenue styled her Icarus knit.

And if that wasn’t enough, Made in Chelsea stars Rosie Fortescue and Oliver Proudlock stopped by to have a look and took time out of their schedule to have a sneaky photo, too!

There are love hearts, roses, cards and all things lovey-dovey here at Superdry HQ today – we guess the fact that it’s valentine’s day has something to do with it.

So, with this in mind we took ourselves off around the creative studio to find out which Superdry items the design team love.

It seems that the Superdry + Timothy Everest Town Coat and the Skinny Denim Jacket are the favourites amongst the Social Media team, whilst the graphic design boys are loving the graphic print tees. (no surprise here!)

At the forefront of all things fashion and style, the PR team are all about our LUXE collection. The Sorrority Vest and Debutante Sequin Vest are top of their list.

However, in true PR style, they’re not one to be without their accessories.

They recommend pairing LUXE with a Smokey Eye Shadow or the Rebel Red Lip Paint for a high-fashion look that’s bang on for SS13.

But that’s enough about what we love. Which Spring Summer piece do you love?
