School is officially out! Whether you’re considering a trip with your mates or a family holiday somewhere exotic, our #Superdrysummer getaway guide has everything you need to know. Fast becoming the place for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene, Dubai makes for a luxurious holiday destination.

Five reasons you’ll love Dubai

1. The sun always shines

In the summer, practically every day is sunny. In the winter, rainfall is usually modest and most days are sunny. August is the hottest month with an average temperature of 36°C (96°F). If you can take the heat, August is the best month to swim in the sea and for the best price travel deals.

2. There are no bad hotels

The benefits of building a world-class tourism destination in 15 years means that there aren’t many bad hotels in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.  In fact, most of them are 4 or 5-star. Make sure you visit Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest hotel and building. Check out the exhibit on the building’s history then take the fastest lift in the world to the top. Hold on to your hat – it only takes a few seconds.

3. Transport is cheap

Thanks to inexpensive gasoline, taxis within the city won’t cost you more than $5 or $10. The cheapest option to get across town would be the fully automated Dubai Metro. It allows you to walk straight into major tourist attractions like the Mall of the Emirates (hosting Ski Dubai) or the Dubai Mall (which is where you enter the Burj Khalifa)

4. There’s so much to do!

Where do we start! The world’s tallest building, indoor skiing, luxurious bars and restaurants, aquariums, water parks, hot air balloon rides, museums, desert adventure safaris, sand boarding, F1 racetrack, drinks on top of the world’s only 7-star hotel – it’s safe to say that you will never be bored in Dubai.

5. The Shopping rocks!

Dubai is known as the shopping capital of the Middle East, and the best bargains are generally in the souks. Even luxury items such as carpets, electronics, gold and textiles can be bought relatively cheaply if you know where to look. The age-old souks, ultra-modern shopping malls and the promise of tax-free prices redefine the whole concept of retail therapy. Also, for all your holiday essentials, pop by the Superdry Store located in the Dubai Emirates Mall.

Although Dubai is an amazing place to visit, there are some important rules that must be obeyed.

Clothing

Revealing clothes are unlawful to an extent. When in public, always ensure your skirts or shorts reach at least just above the knee and ensure your shoulders are covered. In private resorts, hotels, and shopping centres and out in the desert you can relax – swimwear is also acceptable at the pool area. To be safe, always dress conservatively. Men must always wear a top unless they are on the beach/at the pool.

Public signs of affection

Believe it or not, kissing in public is not allowed and can warrant jail time. Not just kissing, also holding hands and cuddling is considered unlawful in public.

Partying

Visitors can only drink alcohol in licensed hotels or clubs, and drinking alcohol or being drunk in public is an offence. Playing loud music in public areas is also considered unlawful. So, if you’re after a late night party holiday with your mates, maybe Magaluf is a better option…

This week is packed full of music festival goodness with the awesome South West Four kicking off on Saturday, where were sending our lucky competition winner, Morgan Haringman, to enjoy the delights of top acts like Faithless and Basement Jaxx. But there’s another staple festival event gracing the last bank holiday of the year – Reading & Leeds!

We think it’s safe to say that like Glastonbury, most people will experience this festival at least once in their lives. Starting this Friday (28th August), this three-day music extravaganza is set to feature some of the most talented bands out there. With headline acts Mumford & Sons, Metallica and The Libertines taking to the main stage, it’s going to be a rocking festival.

Reading & Leeds twin festivals take place simultaneously, with acts performing twice over the weekend at the two different locations – double dose of musical delight! Held at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, near Wetherby; Reading Festival is actually the world’s oldest popular music festival still running.

So, if you want to get that signature festival look, we’ve put together the ultimate outfits to get you ready and raring to rave.

Kicking it off with something for the lads, our Hero Benjamin soft leather jacket is a must-have for all wardrobes as it goes with anything! Leather and denim are so hot right now, so we’ve styled this with our Officer Slim Denim shorts – with its five-pocket design you’ll have lots of room to keep your phone on you for those memorable snaps. Finish this off with a statement tee, like our Tie Dye T-shirt from the Orange Label range, and you’ve got a winning outfit!

Now, with the weather being so temperamental it can be difficult to work out what to wear to a festival, but we say don’t let the rain spoil your style (just remember a pair of wellies!). Our Core Hot Pants are classically styled but finished with a embroidered vintage twist – perfectly girly. Couple this with our Ombre Floral Saints cropped tee and glitter finish Super Campon boots and you’ll be ready to face the weather come rain or shine.

Don’t forget to snap and share your festival antics with us using #FestivalStyle on Twitter @Superdry or Instagram @superdryglobal.

Over the next couple of weeks we’ll start to see the festival season slow down and come to an end for the year, but don’t reach for the remote and blanket just yet! One of the most fun and alternative festivals kicks-off this weekend – Green Man!

Set in the beautifully idyllic Brecon Beacons of Wales and surrounded by ancient oak trees, flowers and green fields as far as the eye can see, Green Man is a festival for those who want to try something different. You may find that a handful of your favourite acts are there, equally you might even discover some new loves. That is the wonder of Green Man.

Kicking off for four days (Thurs 20th – Sun 23rd), festival-goers can take advantage of music, comedy acts, science talks and experiments, feasting and lots of frolicking (in its huge field!). There’s even an area dedicated to families so there’s always an escape for the little ones.

We’re looking forward to checking out one of Green Man’s best-kept secrets – Fortune Falls! A tranquil spot with a trickling stream and dragonflies flitting around, this stage is truly magical. With acts from Hot Chip and Super Furry Animals, to comedy shows featuring Wales’ very own Rhod Gilbert; there’s something for everyone.

Now onto how to get that perfect festival look for Green Man. Tie dye has dominated Superdry’s looks this summer, so team this gorgeous, floaty black and white tie dye sweep maxi dress with our high tops for a comfortable yet chic look.

For the lads it’s all about the bright colours and denim. Mix and match your outfit with our International Shorts and classically styled short-sleeved denim shirt. Whack on a bright coloured tee, like our Kelly Green Dry State T-Shirt, and you’re festival fit!

Share your Green Man antics with us, we would love to see and hear about all the fun from the four days. Include the hashtag #FestivalStyle on Twitter @Superdry or Instagram @SuperdryGlobal and we’ll give you a shout out!

The latest Superdry Sounds playlist is exploding with the freshest tracks from the artists who are dominating our summer soundtracks this month!

Kicking off this months playlist is London based producer Alex Kotz, also know as Elderbrook, whose track ‘be there soon’ is the perfect backing track to your tranquil summer. This track features some great feels and textures and the video is made to match. Elderbrook is signed to the awesome Black Butter Records and his forthcoming EP ‘Travel Slow’ is being release later this week on the 21st, do not miss this! If there is ever one to watch, Elderbrook is top of that list.

Next up is from one of our regulars, Darius. It’s rare that we don’t post a Darius track and this playlist is no different! The idea of remixing one of Jungles’ classic tracks ‘Time‘ must have been a daunting prospect, however Parisian producer Darius has really pulled it out the bag once again with this incredible remix. He’s cleverly captured Jungles party ready vibe while adding an addictive bounce to the track! We salute you Darius for another summer banger!

Last week saw quite a few anticipated album drops – from Mac Demarco to HNNY and of course Julio Bashmore’s debut ‘Knockin Boots’ – a good week for us indeed! We just couldn’t resist however a repost from our May Playlist, the killer track ‘Holding On’ from Julio Bashmore defiantly deserves a second mention! Julio brings out banger after banger and unless you’ve been living under a rock, it would have been hard to have escaped his previous releases such a  ‘Battle for Middle You’ & ‘Au Seve, simply classics from the legendary DJ. Want to know more? Be sure to catch this great documentary courtesy of Red Bull Music. It’s a truly uplifting album from start to finish.

Last month, the awesome Boiler Room uploaded a wicked set from the talented Dixon for a Dekmantel Festival warm up party. Featured on that set was a ‘mystery track’ that was certainly picking up some heat. After a few weeks, we finally got some info, the incredible track was the forthcoming Robag Wruhme remix of ‘Lora’ by Coma. Since we found out, we’ve had the remix on repeat, it has an epic intro and vocals that will make your hair stand on end. The original was uploaded from German based label Kompakt a couple days ago and since we havnt been able to get enough. Thankfully Kompakt will be releasing a compilation album later this week, so keep your ears peeled! We certainly will be!

Rounding off our playlist we have none other than our favourite Canadian, Mac Demarco. Last week saw his fourth album release ‘Another One’ on Captured Tracks. In Macs own words he calls it “a concept album about love” but don’t let this put you off – it’s a lovely soft & easy, dreamy album with some great synth chords throughout. The album has brilliant reviews across the board and is well worth a few listens. For a little insight into why he’s our favourite give this 30 minute documentary a go – if not a little strange at times, he is one funny guy and doesn’t take himself seriously – we love his optimism and approach. This brilliantly shot documentary puts his music into context – keep it coming please!

On 30th July we hosted the Elite Model Look finals at our incredible Regent Street Flagship store. Styling 10 of the freshest faces in the modeling industry we had immense blogger Sarah Mikaela from Framboise Fashion on hand.

Joining our team of stylists Sarah Mikaela got stuck in styling two looks for the catwalk. Paying close attention to the way the models walked, the atmosphere of the event and the way we styled, Sarah added her own twist to the looks.

Capturing the power of the evening and the nervous energy from the young models, the two looks comprised innocence and determination. When we caught up with Sarah Mikaela she said “I was extremely honored and on a constant high throughout the job”

This month, our Superdry Getaway Guide explores the delights of Paris. Like London or New York, Paris is a city of contrasts. From the high romance of dining and culture, through to the bohemian sections of the city, it has its own je ne sais quoi. It’s not really a question of why visit Paris, rather… why would you not?

You will eat and drink like royalty

Croissants, crêpes, wine, baguettes, cheese… your mouth watering much? The French markets, street stalls, and cafés offer some of the best food in Europe. If you fancy something a bit more upmarket, there are many amazing eateries that offer gastronomic treats from classics such as croque-monsieurs, French onion soup, and niçoise salad. Top it off with a fabulous éclair au chocolat or mille-feuille and your golden! Fancy bringing some wine home? Our Block Out Whopper Shopper Bag is perfect for carrying your goodies.

You will see the finest art man can produce

There are many reasons to visit Paris, but one of them has to be art. Thanks to its conscientious Kings and Presidents of old, Paris boasts a very impressive display of art, classical and modern. For some, the Musée du Louvre warrants the title of the greatest museum in the world – it doesn’t get much more momentous than that. The dress code – you don’t really want to be walking around some of the most famous museums in the world wearing your slacks. Fellas, our International Chino Pants will keep you cool while looking sophisticated. While ladies, our Panel Lace Skater Dress is the perfect look for the modern art connoisseur!

No trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower.

One of the most iconic constructions in the World, the Tower was built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel. Nicknamed “The Iron Lady”, the Tour Eiffel is also known as the Monster of the World Exhibition, chiefly because until 1930 it was the tallest structure in the world. Every hour from sunset until 1am the Eiffel Tower shimmers and sparkles. If you fancy climbing it, prepare yourself for a lot of steps! For the ladies, our classic flip flops will keep your feet comfortable. And lads, a pair of our Trophy Series High Top Trainers will do the trick.

The Moulin Rouge; it’s a bucket-list experience!

The Moulin Rouge is the most famous cabaret in the world. Best known as the spiritual birthplace of the can-can dance, the famous red windmill can still be found in the trendy Pigalle neighbourhood. Enjoy dinner and a show while the orchestra gets the crowd into a dancing mood – helped along by some sparkling acts. Ladies, fancy a new outfit? Our High Neck Scuba Dress paired with some costume jewellery is perfect, while lads can look super suave in our London Button Down Shirt.

It’s a magical place!

Ok, ok, it’s not your average Paris city activity but why not have a break from all the culture, food, and architecture and check out the action-packed rides at Euro Disney? Located in the new town of Marne-la-Vallée about 20 miles from Paris, Disneyland Paris has gained the reputation for being the most visited attraction in France, if not Europe. The dress code is up to you! However, don’t forget your Orange Label Zip Hoodie for the evening. You don’t want to get cold watching the fireworks!

We’ve teamed up with the incredible Kim Hartwell to bring you your ultimate Superdry Sport kit, from recipes to workouts. there’ll be a new one each week. This week Kim will be showing us how to make Overnight Oats.

“Find making a healthy breakfast hard work in the mornings? Are you all too often flying out the door with little or nothing to eat before work? Then you’re missing out on a fabulous opportunity to nourish and fuel that wonderful body of yours! So, I have the answer for you…

These super delicious oats work best when left overnight so can be pre-prepared. They’re a great source of nutrition to get you going in the morning. You don’t have to stick rigidly to the ingredients list either, mix it up with different fruits, or perhaps adding some Cocoa for some lovely chocolate goodness (jog on Coco Pops!)

Preparation time is minimal and ingredients are kept pretty simple meaning the recipe is perfect for all you busy health bunnies out there! I am a personal trainer (not a nutritionist) the aim of these recipes are to give you an idea on simple and attainable healthy cooking (for cooks and non-cooks a like!) If I can cook it, you can! This one doesn’t even require cooking – just soaking!

Consistent nutrition is absolutely fundamental to Tone What You Own! Recipes found on the blog (and clean recipes found elsewhere) serve as a fantastic supplement to your workouts. This is one of my absolute favourite, simple, healthy breakfast recipes. I hope you enjoy these oats as much as I do. The texture some people can find a little strange at first, but certainly something you get used to. You end up with a really lovely creamy version of porridge that’s great for you and keeps you fuller for longer! Here you go, let me know what you think, I’d love to hear from you!

Tone What You Own’s Overnight Oats

Serves 1

You will need:

- A jar or bowl to soak them in overnight
- 1/2 ripe banana
- A handful of blueberries
- A small cup of oats
- A tbsp of goji berries
- A small handful of nuts (preferably raw, I like to use cashews, macadamias, walnuts and pecans – mix it up a bit!)
- A tbsp of desiccated coconut
- A tbsp. of almond butter (preferably with no added preservatives like sugars and salts!)
- A tbsp. of chia seeds
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of almond milk (I like to use the brand Almond Breeze’s “Unsweetened Almond Milk) (the aim is to have equal parts almond milk and water so you may need to experiment with your chosen jar/bowl)

    1. Add banana, oats, chia seeds, nuts, goji berries, coconut and chia seeds into your jar or bowl
    2. Add to this the water and almond milk. In this recipe I have used a ratio of 1:1 water: almond milk. If you like it creamy; add more milk, more fluid; add more water. The liquid needs to completely cover all of the ingredients as it will soak in overnight.
    3. Stir, or shake the ingredients (if using a lidded jar)
    4. Leave to soak overnight in the fridge
    5. Remove it from your fridge in the morning
    6. Add a spoon of your favourite nut butter to add a bit of crunch – my favourite is almond butter! YUM!
    7. If you prefer, you can warm your overnight oats slightly on the hob after you take them out the fridge to take off the chill. I personally like mine cold. Ta-da!

Now you can enjoy a great grab and go breakfast option full of energy to power you through your day. Perfect for mornings on the move!”

It’s Friday, and the sun is beaming at Superdry HQ. We’ve thrown ourselves into new and exciting ventures, including the launch of Women’s Sport and the soon to launch World Legends Rugby Shirts by Superdry. So, before we end a very busy week with an ice-cold beer, here’s the lowdown…

If you didn’t catch it on our Social Media pages, this time last week we were taking the net by storm with live coverage from Elite Model Look Search 2015. We were lucky enough to hold the final event at our Regent Street Flagship Store. It was an epic night; cocktails were flowing, and the beats were bouncing. Among our panel of judges was fashion ambassador and Made in Chelsea star Oliver Proudlock, and the talented Sarah from Framboise Fashion was on hand to help our in-house stylist Anna bring together some final looks for the catwalk. Keep a look out for her blog of the Elite event coming very soon!

All of the final models worked incredibly hard throughout the competition, and all deserved a contract at the end. However, as always, winners had to be chosen. The calibre of the finalists was so high that instead of picking two winners, four were chosen. The winners chosen by Elite were an incredible match, the wonderful Chris Tydings, 16, and the gorgeous Charlotte Corn, 17.

Now, we couldn’t just sit back and let Elite have all the fun! Our Superdry judges also selected two models to come and join us for an exclusive Superdry shoot. Congratulations to the stunning Kofi Morris Heather, 18, and Ellie Jordan, 15. Well done to everyone who took part, we’re looking forward to seeing what the future brings for you all!

After an exciting few days at Elite, we dived straight into the launch of our brand new Women’s Sports range, teaming up with fitness guru Kim Hartwell from Tone What You Own. Kim’s wealth of knowledge in healthy living made her the perfect match for our latest campaign. Each week, we’re going to be bringing you #WorkoutWednesdays with Kim, which will involve easy but affective workout videos and healthy recipes to help banish your midweek blues. Don’t worry, we aren’t getting off that lightly – we’ll be taking part every Wednesday here at HQ. Keep an eye on our Social Media channels for #WorkoutWednesdays.

Don’t worry fella’s, we haven’t forgotten about you! As England prepares to host the most anticipated games of the rugby calendar, we’ve been busy styling away getting into the sporting spirit with our new soon to launch World Legends Shirt Collection. Inspired by vintage sports apparel and the classic varsity style of the 60s and 70s, the collection consists of 16 shirts for 11 chosen countries. The shirts combine statement cotton collars and retro styling with Superdry’s trademark cracked print lending itself to a rugged vintage feel. As sizes range from S to XXXL, this is a look you can carry off across the generations. The soon to launch World Legends collection is available to buy in store and at superdry.com from 14 August. Once you have your shirt sorted, all that’s left to do is brush up on your rugby knowledge and memorise the words to Swing Low in time for kick off. Make sure you join in with the conversation on our Social Media channels using #SuperdryRugby

If Sport and Rugby aren’t your thing, then maybe a weekend of great music is more up your street. This weekend is the incredible Wilderness Festival held in the stunning Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire. To help you lovely people out, we’ve pulled together the ultimate style guide to set you up in Superdry Style for a weekend of raving. Check out our Wilderness Style Guide here!

If you haven’t got tickets for Wilderness Festival, no worries! We’ve teamed up with the awesome South West Four Festival to offer one lucky Superdry fan the chance to win two tickets for the bank holiday festivities! South West Four kicks off 29-30th August at the awesome location of Clapham Common. Fancy getting your hands on tickets to Sunday’s line up?
